Engineers’ Day celebrations were held on Tuesday at the RG-1 Area GM office in Mokshagundam to commemorate Visvesvaraya Jayanti. RG-1 General Manager Lalit Kumar participated as the chief guest and spoke at the event. Mining is a huge sector driven by the collective efforts of various engineering departments, and in the coming days, engineers should improve their skills in line with modern technologies like AI and robotics. Engineers who showed exceptional talent in this program were felicitated by presenting ‘Best Engineer’ awards. CSP GDK Deputy General Manager (E&M) Paidishwar.. received this award for achieving 55 lakh tonnes of dispatch against the target of 30 lakh tonnes, reducing damrage penalties by Rs. 2.20 crore, saving electricity by Rs. 30 lakh and achieving zero breakdowns. GDK OC-2 Electrical DGM S. Satish Chakravarthy also received the Best Engineer Award. Later, GDK CM Project Officer D. Ramesh explained the best practices being adopted in their Opencast project through a power point presentation. Ramagundam Local Center Chairman Appa Rao, Honorary Secretary K. Srinivasa Reddy, GDK-11 Group AGM Ch. Srinivas, GDK-1 Agent D. Ramesh, Area Engineer Kashi Visvesvaraya Rao and many department heads and engineers participated in the ceremony in large numbers. The speakers specially remembered the role of engineers in the construction of the country and the services of Visvesvaraya on this occasion.
